What a year it has been! Bryce has been such a blessing to our family. He is one of the calmest, happiest, sweetest & most loving children I have ever met & I’m not sure what we have done to be given the gift of being his parents. Recently, I was looking through old blog posts & realized I never shared Bryce’s birth story, so in light of his birthday, I thought it would be a good time to share a few details of that day. I was three days overdue & we were headed to Costco to purchase a tv & printer. I remember waking up feeling odd that morning & more uncomfortable than previous mornings. I just felt off while we were there & I had a lot of back pain. My sister pushed me to call my ob to make sure I shouldn’t go in. He of course advised me to come in & get checked since I was already overdue. I rushed home to shower (typical girly girl) & we were off to the hospital. For some reason, I thought they were going to send me home. My pain didn’t feel like how people describe contractions to be & they were not consistent at all. I’m talking 10 minutes apart then 3 then 8, etc.. Thank goodness we went in because by the time we got to the hospital I was in full blown (BACK) labor. I will spare you the gory details, but to give you an idea of how quickly my labor progressed I went from 1 cm dialated to an 8 cm in an hour. I went into labor around 1:30 at Costco & gave birth by 8:23 pm & I feel like this year has flown by just as quickly. Life has gotten so much sweeter since having Bryce & though it’s bittersweet to see him turn one, I am so excited to see the little person he continues to grow into this year!
